Outdoor Summer Daycamps Instructor

Location: Alton Baker Park & Mount Pisgah Arboretum

• Experience teaching in an outdoor setting
• Experience working as a lead instructor of children ages 4-8
• Experience designing and implementing curriculum
• Knowledge of local natural history
• Available the weeks of June 28th, July 5th, August 9th, August 23rd and August 30th
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, flexibility, excellent communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• Ability to commit to teaching five weeks of camp – additional may be available
• Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in returning for part time work throughout the 2021/2022 school year and/or summer 2022

• Attend training, June 12th from 10am-4pm
• Obtain or update CPR and First Aid certification
• Create daily plans based on existing curriculum and the input of Education Coordinator
• Lead daily activities with an emphasis on exploration, discovery, fun, and safety
• Supervise both teen and adult volunteers during each week of camp
• Be a positive and an inspiring role model for campers and volunteers

• $725 per week for full day programs (prorated for half day programs)
Location: Most camps in Alton Baker Park, one at Mount Pisgah Arboretum
