Expanded Learning Opportunity (ELO)

The term Expanded Learning Opportunity refers to before and after school, summer, and inter-session learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Expanded Learning programs should be student-centered, results-driven, include community partners, use program standards, and complement but not replicate learning activities in the regular school day/year.
